Gênero na terapia familiar: Análise de conteúdos de cursos de formação e publicações periódicas

This paper is the result of a descriptive and exploratory documentary research for a master’s degree through which we sought to identify the meanings of gender present in the programatic content of family therapy training institutes and in the scientific productions of the journals Nova Perspectiva Sistêmica and Pensando Famílias, from a socioconstructionist perspective. The review of international literature showed that gender and intersectional interpretations are significant and have fostered important discussions to (re)think theories and possibilities in clinical practice. On the other hand, in the Brazilian context, we noticed that the concept of gender is little explored if we consider its analytical and political potential. When the discussion takes place, the approaches to the constructionist perspective and gender studies contribute to critical reflections. However, our results pointed to a lack of theoretical and practical discussions, as well as the inclusion of the intersectional perspective.
