Теоретико-методологічні основи менеджменту знань: імплементація у бібліотечну діяльність

The aim of the article is to summarise theoretical and methodological foundations of knowledge management, and to identify features of its implementation in library activities using the example of Ukrainian scientific libraries. The study emphasises the role of academic libraries, specifically V.I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine and V.O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine in the development of effective knowledge management practices in conditions of society digitalisation. Research methods. To achieve the aim of this study, scientific methods applied to comprehensively assess the effectiveness of knowledge management in library activities and its impact on societal development. Specifically, theoretical analysis and synthesis methods are used to research the theoretical and methodological foundations of knowledge management and to identify key aspects of its implementation in libraries. Comparative analysis and comparative method allow for the evaluation of different approaches to knowledge management applied in the library sphere, both in Ukraine and abroad. Systemic approach is used to generalise the results of the analysis of existing materials and practices, contributing to holistic understanding of the role of libraries in the current information environment. Analytical method helps to reveal the specifics of libraries functioning as knowledge management centres, including their latest initiatives and innovative approaches. Additionally, content analysis and case analysis methods are used to examine the impact of libraries on societal development, providing detailed insights into specific examples of successful practices in library activities. Empirical data is collected through interviews with library professionals and experts, as well as by analysing published reports and research in the sphere of knowledge management. The scientific novelty of this study grounds on summarising the approaches of Ukrainian librarians to implementing knowledge management in library activities and identifying current knowledge management practices in Ukrainian scientific libraries. Particular attention is given to analysing the role of libraries in knowledge management processes, which not only systematises modern approaches but also highlights their active role in societal development amidst digitalisation. The research reveals innovative models of library activities that contribute to the integration of knowledge and communication within libraries. Main conclusions. Knowledge management is a key element in the functioning of modern libraries, enabling them to operate effectively in conditions of the digital society. An important aspect is the implementation of digital technologies and the development of professional skills among library staff in order to ensure access to knowledge resources. The application of strategic approaches to knowledge management enhances the effectiveness of libraries as centres of societal development, facilitating their integration into the processes of digital transformation.
