“La tecnología al servicio de la igualdad”: agenda de investigación sobre violencia sexual digital en España

In this work, we study the phenomenon of the digitalization of sexual violence, focusing our analysis on the relationship between digital technologies and practices of digital sexual violence, which particularly affects adolescents and young people. To this end, we interviewed eight experts, allowing us to identify new practices of digital sexual violence; delve into the conceptualization of the offline-online continuum of sexual violence; and investigate the affordances of digital technologies in the legitimization and perpetration of sexual violence from a gender perspective. Our results indicate that to prevent, sanction, and eradicate digital sexual violence, a comprehensive approach is needed that involves working with all actors: platforms, perpetrators, and victims. Additionally, we also highlight some key points that, according to the experts, should be included in a research agenda on DSV in Spain.
