Formación universitaria en drogodependencias en el Grado de Educación Social
This research analyzed the curricula of Bachelor’s degrees in Social Education across Spain. A descriptive documentary investigation was conducted, examining a total of 39 universities that offer this degree, with the aim of identifying the number of subjects dedicated to training in drug dependence and other addictions. The results showed that, out of the total universities analyzed, 22 offer a specific subject on this topic, twelve include specific content within other subjects, and the remaining five neither offer relevant subjects nor include the topic in their curricula, or the information could not be found in the course guide or the respective website. The findings indicate that university curricula are under constant review and are updated based on the needs of Social Education professionals. Currently, there is a greater presence of addiction-related subjects compared to ten years ago, suggesting significant improvement. However, there are still challenges to be addressed regarding the training of future social educators in the field of drug addiction and other related issues.
