Reimagining Fashion : Silhouetttes & Speculative Trends
This project explores how participatory workshops can foster reflection and behavior change around fashion consumption and waste. Through a series of hands-on workshops targeting young adults, particularly women, participants reimagine unsellable second-hand garments using unconventional silhouettes and creative constraints. The project uses design as a tool for critical reflection, encouraging participants to question current fashion norms, consumption habits, and the influence of social media. By integrating discussion, storytelling, and experiential learning, the workshops aim to shift perceptions of fashion from disposable to meaningful. The outcome includes a refined workshop structure and a facilitation manual adaptable for educational settings. This manual serves as a resource for educators seeking to engage youth in conversations about sustainability, textile waste, and conscious consumerism. Ultimately, the project advocates for a more mindful and participatory fashion culture that empowers individuals to become active contributors to change.
