РАДЯНСЬКА РЕПРЕСИВНА ПОЛІТИКА НА ДРОГОБИЧЧИНІ В ІМЕНАХ (1941 Р.): НОВЕ ДЖЕРЕЛО

There have been analyzed and published an unknown document of the Soviet security agencies (1944) in the article, which provided a list of the personnel of the UNKDB of Drohobych region during 1941–1944. The purpose of the research is to analyze and publish a document related to the history of the Soviet repressive policy in Drohobych region (former Drohobych region) in 1939–1941. The methodology of the research is based on the principles of historicism, scientific research, author’s objectivity, the application of source studies methods, in particular the method of internal criticism of sources. The scientific novelty of the publication lies in the fact that a new historical source is being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. Conclusions. Hence, “The Working List of Personnel of the UNKGB of Drohobych Region During the Period of the Great Patriotic War of the 1941–44”, which was published in 1944 and lists all the employees of the UNKDB of Drohobych region with their job positions as of 1941 and the subsequent functional duties they carried out during the German-Soviet War. There is no signature in the document, it is impossible to establish authorship. It is obvious that such data was collected and recorded by a personnel service employee at the direction of senior management. The document is handwritten. Taking into account the handwriting, we can come to a conclusion that it was written by one person. However, there were made individual clarifications by at least one other person (the handwriting is significantly different). The list was compiled in alphabetical order initially and then it was supplemented. Since the document was prepared using the information that was available, it only contained the most basic details, such as the surname, first name, patronymic, military rank, position in Drohobych regional UNKDB in 1941 and further performance of functions in the period of 1941–1944. Without a doubt, the document is a valuable source of information that sheds light on the issue of the repressive measures in Drohobych region (1939–1941). After all, there were specific names behind every crime committed by the Soviet administration. Due to the inevitability of punishment, it should be published and fixated. The document is published in the original language in compliance with the necessary archeographical requirements.
