Роль Міжнародної організації праці у забезпеченні права на свободу мирних зібрань та об’єднань
The article is devoted to the role of the International Labor Organization in ensuring the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. The ILO, as a leading international institution, promotes the protection of the rights of workers and employers through the development and implementation of international labor standards. The main attention is paid to key documents, such as Convention No. 87 concerning Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organize of 1948 and Convention No. 98 concerning the Right to Organize and Collective Bargaining of 1949, which are fundamental in the formation of international obligations of states to implement these rights. The article analyzes examples of the implementation of the provisions of these conventions into the national legislation of countries, in particular Ukraine, Poland and India. The issue of adapting legal norms on trade union activities, collective bargaining and the protection of workers from discrimination for trade union activities is separately considered. The examples of these countries demonstrate how ratification of ILO conventions encourages countries to reform national legislation in order to ensure better protection of labor rights and compliance with international standards. It is emphasized that the role of the ILO in ensuring the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association is extremely important for the development of a democratic society and the protection of workers’ rights. By developing international standards, monitoring their compliance and supporting states, the ILO contributes to building fair labor relations on a global scale. Given the changes in social and labor relations, the role of the ILO in ensuring workers’ rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and association becomes even more important. The organization must adapt its norms to new conditions and contribute to ensuring workers’ rights in a globalized world. The results of the study indicate the important role of the ILO in harmonizing national legal systems with international standards, promoting social dialogue and protecting the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. The article emphasizes the importance of effective implementation of ILO standards for ensuring social justice, strengthening democratic principles, and developing labor relations.
