The integration of Ukraine into the European community has a multi-vector and multi-aspect character, among which the architectural and urban planning dimension has a careful direction in cooperation. The challenges of today's crisis situations on the way to the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities require the use of modern spatial planning methodology developed in European architectural schools. The Association of European Schools of Spatial Planning (Association of European Schools of Planning - AESOP) unites more than 150 leading universities in Europe where the scientific and educational process of training future architects is carried out. AESOP was founded in 1987 in Belgium. AESOP is the only representation of planning schools in Europe and is a member of the Global Planning Education Association Network (GPEAN). AESOP disseminates its scientific and practical program among professional organizations, policy-makers and all other key stakeholders in addressing the challenges of urbanization across Europe. These goals are achieved through a number of activities, among them two main activities: this is the annual scientific and practical Congress on European, national, regional and local spatial planning; and annual meetings of heads of European architectural schools with discussion of research and educational programs. The Poltava School of Architecture of the National University "Poltava Polytechnic named after Yury Kondratyuk" became a member of AESOP in 2022, which provided an opportunity to participate in scientific and practical activities in the study of modern processes of urbanization and to spread the scientific achievements and experience of Ukrainian architectural schools. In 2023, the Poltava School of Architecture, taking into account its scientific research level, won the right to hold the international scientific and practical conference "18th meeting of architectural schools AESOP" in the city of Poltava, but the martial law in Ukraine stood in the way. In this regard, the event was moved to Bratislava, where the Poltava School of Architecture held the 18th meeting of the heads of AESOP architectural schools in the walls of the Slovak University of Technology (STU) from March 21 to 23, 2023. The topic of the meeting of the heads of the AESOP architectural schools was devoted to the topic: "Future Planning and Development within Emergencies". In the process of scientific discussions, issues of transformation of urban space, integrated development of cities, fractal urbanism, etc. were considered. The implementation of the search for the latest scientific theories in urbanism in Europe is carried out in scientific centers and universities, therefore, it is especially important for Ukrainian institutions of higher education that train future architects. The Association of European Schools of Spatial Planning AESOP is open to dialogue with higher education institutions of Ukraine. The training of future architects in domestic institutions of higher education for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine uses modern methodologies of scientific and educational processes.
