Vaksala Vertical Village
Vaksala Vertical Village redefines urban living in Uppsala city by merging residential, work, and communal spaces into a vibrant, high-density eco-system. Addressing housing shortages and the needs of young professionals, students, and small families, the design features double-height apartments alongside compact units, linked by rooftop gardens spaces designed to encourage collaboration and counteract the isolation of urban life. The architecture pays homage to Uppsala’s aesthetic through a contemporary white concrete and glass façade, while modular floor plans ensure adaptability for diverse lifestyles. Vertical connectivity achieved via staircases and open-air corridors promotes walkability and neighbourly interaction.Rooted in sustainability and social resilience, the project offers a prototype for future urban housing that balances privacy and community.
