Tu pinta, tu voz: la indumentaria intervenida como discurso de autenticidad
This research project delves into the fascinating world of altered clothing, explo-ring how this form of artistic and personalized expression becomes a powerful medium of communication. Specifically, it examines how undergraduate students at the University of Medellín use altered clothing as a vehicle to convey discourses of authenticity. Beyond merely being a fashion statement, altered clothing becomes a channel laden with cultural and personal significance, challenging traditional conceptions of identity and authentici-ty. This study aims to understand in depth the discourses of authenticity communicated through personalized clothing, focusing on identifying the artistic expressions present in students’ attire and understanding how these personalizations define their public image and construct discourses of authenticity within their social environment.
