Trayectoria Artística Detallada del Compositor y Violonchelista mexicano Rubén Montiel (Primera Etapa)

This article is part of the documentary research previously carried out on the figure of Rubén Montiel; therefore, we will show updated details regarding the career of the Mexican composer and cellist. This document focuses only on the first stage of Montiel's artistic production. The main objective of this publication revolves around the precise details of the life and work of the aforementioned composer and cellist, since until now the records and data gathered here were not available; consequently, it has not been possible to divulge any of these events in a precise manner. The research work was carried out from the compilation of primary and secondary sources poured from the personal collection of the Montiel family; such as photographs, hand programs, scores, personal letters, autobiographical notes, testimonies of relatives; but above all, from a meticulous investigation of journalistic notes of the time, located in repositories and newspaper databases, which make evidence of the artistic activity of our composer. The highlight of this research work was to achieve the reconstruction of the facts of life of our studied author; consequently, it is worth mentioning that completely unknown data emerged even for the composer's own family. With the dissemination of these results, it is expected the emergence of new lines of research concerning the musical context of his work, such as the repositioning of Montiel as an important figure of Mexican concert music and, likewise, the musical stylistic development through the chronological organization of the same work, among others.
