Respuesta clínica favorable a tratamiento con inmunoterapia y radioterapia en paciente con melanoma nodular y metástasis cerebral
Melanoma is a neoplasm originating from melanocytes, primarily affecting the skin, though it can also arise in the eye, meninges, and mucous membranes. It is classified as the most aggressive skin neoplasm due to its ability to metastasize to distant organs (1,2). In Mexico, melanoma accounts for 3% of tumors, with 80% of cases diagnosed at an advanced clinical stage (2). We present the case of a 69-year-old man who developed a papule in 2017 that progressively enlarged. He was diagnosed in 2023 with nodular melanoma, Clark level IV, clinical stage IV due to central nervous system infiltration. Treatment with immunotherapy and radiotherapy was initiated, resulting in a favorable clinical response, with remission of both brain and cutaneous lesions.
