Proyectos políticos regionales y futbolistas en Colombia. Antioquia y Valle del Cauca en los años sesenta y setenta
The article analyses how the histories of Antioquia and the Valle del Cauca are intertwined with those of Colombian football and footballers in the 1960s and 1970s. It examines oral sources product of working with players and sports periodicals to rethink the scope and influence of the regional hegemonic political projects previously characterized by historiography. It offers a new interpretation of these interweavings and conceives footballers as “public figures” and original regionalizing actors in a context of cultural change. The text is organized in four parts. The first introduces the problema and characterizes the methodology. The second sets forth the analytical perspective adopted on the regions, the political space of football and the political landscape that the players encounter. The third describes and compares the regional projects from specific questions about the “us” of each regional society. Finally, the conclusions compare the regional projects, examine how the footballers join them and propose some lines of research.
