A PSYCHOLINGUISTIC RESEARCH OF THE VALUE ATTITUDES OF BILINGUAL CHILDREN: BASED ON THE MATERIAL OF UDMURT-RUSSIAN BILINGUALISM
The article presents the results of a psycholinguistic research of the value attitudes of children who are native speakers of Udmurt and Russian. The experiment was conducted among the students of schools in the Yakshur-Bodyinsky district of the Udmurt Republic. As a working hypothesis, the statement was adopted that, regardless of the language / languages of ownership, universal values are basic, supranational. What is specific in the value language picture of the world is due to national socio-cultural traditions. The reliability of the conclusions is confirmed by the employed research methods (the method of free associative experiment, comparative method, the method of analysis of psycholinguistic meaning) and a wide range of empirical material. The main conclusions include the following: family, love, friendship, homeland, work, nature, money form the core of the value picture of the world of children, regardless of national culture. The formation of values is influenced by the modern scientific and technological progress, fashion, and the lifestyle of generation Z. Nevertheless, compared with the data obtained in the control group of monolingual subjects, associations inherent only to the speakers of Udmurt-Russian bilingualism were identified, indicating the traditions, lifestyle and the way of life of the Udmurt people: small homeland, nature, animals, village, air, land, etc. We note the special perception of the image of family, relatives, and kind, exceeding the semantic scope of images in the Russian monoculture.
