ORTA ÇAĞ AVRUPASI’NDA ARİSTOKRASİ VE KADIN
This study examines the historical invisibility of women during the Middle Ages, a period dominated by patriarchal structures and lacking both technological advancement and organized feminist movements. Despite limited resources, it aims to explore the roles and societal perceptions of aristocratic women by analyzing influential figures such as Eleanor of Aquitaine, Joan of Arc, and Christine de Pisan. These examples illustrate how some women managed to assert themselves in leadership and intellectual spheres despite prevailing gender norms. The study highlights the importance of understanding historical gender dynamics in order to prevent similar inequalities in modern governance and to support the development of more inclusive societies. Although the scarcity of sources restricts deeper analysis, the study provides a valuable foundation for future research on the political and social influence of noblewomen throughout history.
