“Quem é a donzela em perigo agora?”: Miradas interseccionais para políticas identitárias em “Scooby-doo” (1969, 2002) e “Velma” (2023)

Based on the assumption that audiovisual productions convey discourses andformthesubjects who consume them, this research is located in the field of cultural pedagogiesand the relationship between Cinema and Education. Specifically, our interest liesinrecent discussions about film adaptations that, in some way, align withidentityguidelines (inclusion of black characters, LGBTQIAPN+, the protagonismof women, etc.). Thus, this research aims to analyze the series “Velma” (2023), the televisionseries“Scooby-Doo” (1969) and the live action “Scooby Doo” (2002) in order to thinkaboutwhich discourses reverberated in the readaptation in contrast to the original animationand to what extent these discourses imply in the formation of children, adolescents, young people and adults in the present time. Supported by studies such as thosebyFischer (2011, 2023) and Costa (2023), we will analyze these productions fromtheperspective of cultural pedagogies and the intersectional approach.
