Obtención de balanceado para cerdos de ceba en base seca a partir de raquis de banano, enriquecido con fosfato de calcio y carbonato de calcio

The study addressed the utilization of banana rachis, an abundant agro-industrial byproduct in El Oro, particularly in the canton of El Guabo, for the formulation of balanced feed for fattening pigs. The objective was to develop a dry and nutritionally adequate mixture based on banana rachis, enriched with calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate, as well as soybean and corn meals, which are recognized for their high nutritional value in animal feed. The methodology included the collection, cleaning, acid treatment, drying, and grinding of the rachis, along with the controlled processing of the other ingredients. Three experimental mixtures were prepared, with one selected for physicochemical analysis. This analysis revealed significant contents of ash, protein, and carbohydrates, as well as low moisture, favoring product preservation. The results were compared with scientific references, validating the nutritional quality of the product obtained. The study concluded that using banana rachis as the main ingredient is a viable, sustainable, and economical alternative for pig nutrition, contributing to the reduction of the environmental impact of agricultural waste and improving production efficiency through the use of local resources. This strategy promotes the circular economy and sustainability within regional agro-industrial systems.
