O impacto da pandemia no feminicídio e a aplicação da Lei Maria da Penha
Domestic violence against women is a social problem that has intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period in which isolation measures have made it difficult for victims to access support and protection networks. Given this scenario, this research investigates the impact of the increase in cases of feminicide in Brazil and the effectiveness of Law No. 11,340/2006 (Maria da Penha Law) in protecting women. The study, of a qualitative nature and based on a literature review, analyzes recent data and research on gender-based violence in the context of the pandemic. The results indicate that, despite the advances provided by legislation, the pandemic revealed structural challenges in the implementation of protective measures, exposing gaps in the fight against domestic violence. It is concluded that the expansion of public policies and the strengthening of protection mechanisms are essential to guarantee women's safety and the effective application of the law.
