“Olho d’água cinza”: tecnologia inovadora de reúso de água cinza domiciliar em quintais agroecológicos no semiárido nordestino
The use of alternative technologies and sustainable production models, such as gray water reuse systems and agroecological management techniques, have been highlighted as promising alternatives for tackling the problems of degradation and pollution of natural resources. In this sense, the present study aims to implement and evaluate the innovative technology for treating domestic gray water (Olho D’Água Cinza) from a perspective capable of partially or completely supplying the water supply of animals and with surplus, directed to the Agroforestry System –SAFs in the production of protein bank, bee pasture and food production with agroecological practices. For this, in addition to the prototype of the technology implemented in the municipality of Crato –CE called the Experimental Research Unit –UEP, 12 more rural properties will be selected in the municipalities of Exu, Ipubi, Bodocó and Araripina in the State of Pernambuco. The purpose is to implement 12 “Olhos D’Água Cinza” in consortium with an agroecological experimental area called Experimental Diffusion Units –UED. In agroecological areas, sustainable alternative technologies will be used, such as the reuse of gray water in irrigation and with emphasis on the consortium of native, forage, beekeeping and food plants. As results, consolidation and certification as an innovative social technology is expected; generation of knowledge that allows for improvements in bee, sheep and goat farming; watering of farmed and wild animals; planting and/or increasingfruit and vegetable production; Generation of income for families; recovery of degraded areas, contributing to combating the processes that trigger desertification and climate change.
