Fashion comprises an essential component of our identity, as individuals and as a society. The cultural heritage in textiles and ancestral natural dyeing techniques is a reflection of this; providing a deep link to our history. The recovery and preservation of traditional techniques such as those used by the Paracas and Inca cultures in natural dyeing, allow us to have greater knowledge of these civilizations and at the same time enable new artisans and designers to (re)create contemporary cultural identity in Peru. Therefore, the documentation of these techniques and materials is vital for the preservation of identity and cultural heritage.
