Liderazgo efectivo y desempeño docente en una Unidad Educativa ecuatoriana: Diseño de un manual de funciones
This study analyzes the relationship between educational leadership and teacher performance in an Ecuadorian educational institution during the 2024-2025 academic year. The purpose of this study is to design an improvement proposal based on the functional organization of teaching work. The research was conducted using a mixed-method, non-experimental, correlational design, utilizing teacher surveys and interviews with the institutional authority. The results reveal a widespread perception of ineffective leadership, the lack of role definition, and its negative impact on teaching staff performance. In response to this problem, a Teacher Function Manual was designed, with subject-specific profiles, including professional competencies, pedagogical tasks, institutional responsibilities, and reporting mechanisms. This tool is complemented by outreach workshops aimed at strengthening teacher empowerment, promoting a collaborative work environment, and improving organizational efficiency. The proposal is considered technically and methodologically feasible and represents a practical and contextualized alternative for enhancing professional commitment and educational quality. The findings of this research are consistent with previous studies that highlight the importance of effective and participatory leadership in improving institutional performance. In conclusion, it is evident that effective leadership, supported by clear organizational structures and ongoing training processes, can positively impact teacher performance and the achievement of institutional objectives.
