La banalidad del arte: Crisis de la modernidad y renacimiento de la tragedia en Nietzsche

The article proposes an interpretation of the Birth of Tragedyunder the horizon of the crisis of modernity and from the hypothesis that the banality of art is the ironic result of Nietzsche's metaphysical-aesthetic project. The author's deflationary self-interpretation is reconstructed and it is maintained that his genuine metaphysical-aesthetic project consists of a rebirth of tragedy linked to the religious, historical and political assumptions of art. Finally, this is contrasted with the banal evolution of art in contemporary times.
