Literatura y compromiso en historia de una escalera de Antonio Buero Vallejo

The present research work aims to examine the double project of Antonio Buero Vallejo in Historia de una escalera with the creation of a theatre committed to Spanish literature awakening consciences on the one hand and, on the other, with the elaboration of a formal structure addressing social criticism with a realistic rethinking. This study will be based not only on the historical and social critical method but also on the contributions of some dramaturgical critics and the result of the research has revealed that the dramatist, despite the context, manages to make triumph the true conscience of his time by representing the frustrations and injustices of a people in disrepair.
