La solterona como tipo marginal en relatos de tradición oral de la provincia de Chimborazo, Ecuador
The indigenous communities of the Colta and Guamote cantons in Ecuador strengthen, through the transmission of oral stories, a countercultural imaginary, a sort of juridical self-ordering that disbelieves mestizo and state legislation. The study characterizes the representations of the character of the spinster in two oral narratives - “Kunturmanta rimay” (“The Condor”) and “Allkumanta solteramantapish rimay” (“The dog and the spinster”) coming from the informant Mama Petrona Tenelema, Mama Pitu, and recorded by Luis Alberto Tuaza Castro in July 2009 in Cicalpito, Colta, Ecuador, and published in 2017-, from the theoretical apparatus of Hans Mayer and his conceptual dupla: intentional marginality/existential marginality, which makes possible the hermeneutics of a social type that despite historical-geographical-cultural barriers manages to prevail intact, in a certain way, in its condition of anathema.
