Integración de componentes de la EA en el currículo colombiano: una mirada desde los DBA y los EBC en áreas fundamentales de educación media
Environmental education (EE) is essential for shaping citizens committed to sustainability. This study analyzes the integration of EE components into the Basic Competency Standards (EBC) and Basic Learning Rights (DBA) in Colombian secondary education. The objective of this research is to assess the presence of environmental knowledge, concern, attitudes, and behavior in the curriculum, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. A content analysis of the EBC and DBA was conducted, categorizing key dimensions of EE. The results reveal a solid conceptual foundation in environmental knowledge but highlight gaps in promoting pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors. While efforts to raise student awareness are evident, the connection between theory and practice remains limited. The low representation of elements fostering environmental behavior underscores the need for active pedagogical methodologies that drive concrete actions. It is recommended to adopt participatory approaches and interdisciplinary projects that enhance comprehensive environmental education, facilitating the transition from knowledge to action and contributing to the development of responsible and environmentally committed citizens.
