I skuggan av gängkriminalitetens risker : En kvalitativ studie om hur unga vuxna anpassar sig i relation till trygghet och risk i förhållande till gängkriminaliteten i dagens samhälle
This study examines how young adults make adjustments in lifestyle and social behavior in response to risks associated with gang crime, this is done using a qualitative research method through interviews. It examines both young adults living in high-crime and low-crime areas, investigating whether risk perception differs based on geographic context, as well as factors such as gender and media reporting. The result shows that individuals adapt their lifestyles to reduce the risk of being exposed to possible risks linked to gang crime. This manifests itself with clear gender differences, where women change behaviors to ensure personal safety, while men adapt their actions to protect women and others in their vicinity. In addition, it appears that young adults in more vulnerable areas, have an increased awareness of risks and use more strategies to protect themselves compared to those who live in less vulnerable areas. Media reporting plays a central role in shaping risk perception and leads to individuals becoming more vigilant and aware of potential dangers in today's society. Overall, the study contributes to a deeper understanding of risk management strategies in contemporary society.
