Impacto de la IA Inteligencia Artificial en el Consumo de la Información sobre Geopolítica

The research entitled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its Influence on the Way Geopolitical Information is Consumed” examines how artificial intelligence has evolved global political communication through algorithmic systems. Social media refines, hierarchizes, and personalizes information, limiting citizens' understanding of international disputes so that citizens are mentally limited by algorithms. According to van Dijk (2012), intelligent automation is changing traditional editorial management towards digital models that respond to geopolitical and commercial interests. That is why this research has a mixed methodological approach based on communication theories such as cultural measurement, Agenda Setting, and Framing. In addition, it has scientific support in documents such as Kate Crawford's The Atlas of AI (2021) and regulatory frameworks such as the European Union's AI Act, and even diagnoses the opportunities and risks of Artificial Intelligence in society. In turn, recent cases (Colombia 2022, Argentina 2023) are taken as examples, where these reflect how AI modifies democratic processes, these being the new challenges for global digital governance, information sovereignty, and justice.
