Inovações tecnológicas na caprinocultura brasileira: uma análise patentária

The growth of goat farming in Brazil has boosted the search for technological innovations that favor the sustainable development of the sector. In 2022, Brazil was ranked 21st in the world ranking of goat herds, showing the need to evaluate the technological scenario associated with the area. This study aimed to carry out a technological prospection to identify trends and advances in the patent domain related to goats in Brazil. The methodology adopted was quantitative, with patent search in the INPI database, followed by mapping of the patents mined using the intelligence platforms in Intellectual Property Orbit Insight and Orbit Intelligence. The results show that the Brazilian Federal Universities are the largest depositors in the area of goats, while the areas with the highest number of deposits include Food Chemistry, Pharmaceutical and Special Machines. Dairy products, such as cheeses and beverages (subclass A23C) in the Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) predominate. Green patent filings of subclass Y02A were identified with a growth of 3.3%. In the domestic market, foreign companies from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector lead in innovation, with emphasis on vaccines as innovations of greater market relevance. The analysis of patent applications revealed that most are still pending granting, showing a long life cycle of innovation. It is concluded that the continuous monitoring of technological trends and knowledge transfer is essential to strengthen goat farming, boosting its competitiveness and economic sustainability.
