Grado de Conocimiento y Adherencia Terapéutica en Pacientes con Hipertensión Arterial Sistémica Adscritos a la UMF No. 47
Background: High blood pressure is a pathology that is associated with increased cardiovascular risk and high rates of morbidity and mortality. One of the main causes of uncontrolled blood pressure levels is non-adherence to therapy and lack of knowledge about the disease. OBJECTIVE: Determine the degree of knowledge and therapeutic adherence in patients with systemic arterial hypertension. Material and Methods: Observational, analytical and transversal study carried out at UMF No. 47 of the IMSS. For patients diagnosed with High Blood Pressure through the CSH questionnaire, variables such as age, sex, nutritional status, academic level, adherence to treatment, hypertension control, and type of drugs consumed were additionally integrated. For statistical analysis, X2 was used for qualitative variables. Results: The majority of the population was made up of males 52.5%, overweight 44.3% and 50.6% suffering from hypertension for 2 years. The level of knowledge was medium at 43% and the majority of patients had adequate therapeutic adherence at 55.7%. Conclusions: No statistically significant relationship was found between the level of knowledge about arterial hypertension and therapeutic adherence in the population studied.
