Imágenes y palabras en la construcción de la Educación en Salud desde la Educación Popular

In this article we carry out an analysis of productions elaborated in workshops about the intersection between Health Education (HE) and Popular Education (PE). These productions, composed of multimodal language (with an interaction between visual and verbal modes), were analyzed from the framework of the Grammar of Visual Design (GVD). In all the images produced, a dialogic dimension appeared which was represented in the majority of the cases by a circle of people. Also, although less frequently, we found representations of elements harmful to Health, something that we link to a problematizing/critical dimension of reality. To a lesser extent we also identified elements that we link to a transformative intentionality in productions which included action, collective construction, struggle, organization in assemblies and links with the territories. The use of the GDV allowed us to recognize, among other aspects, forms of expression of dynamism, processes, transformations in graphic discourses and contributed to our understanding of the ways in which whoever constructs an image can generate dialogues and express positions towards those who read them. The analysis carried out provides us with criteria and elements to continue and deepen the training in HE from PE. The problematization of reality and its transformation linked to Health were the dimensions least addressed, which is why they would deserve greater treatment and reflection in future training spaces.
