Fran forvirring och stress till fortroende och success? : En fallstudie om upplevelsen av introduktionsprocessen i ett ledande revisionsforetag
A changing world demands adaptation. The onboarding process is a critical component of personnel management. Despite its importance, previous research shows that designing and implementing effective onboarding programs often poses a challenge for companies. One demanding and dynamic industry where the onboarding process plays a crucial role for both new employees and the companies themselves is the auditing industry. These firms struggle with high employee turnover and are known for hiring many recent graduates. The purpose of this study is to examine what influences the experience of the onboarding process for recent graduates at a Big Four auditing firm. Based on previous research, including Bauer's 4C model, the study established an analytical framework consisting of four building blocks and five indicators. The study's empirical data is based on eight interviews with employees at a Big Four auditing firm. The results of the study showed that the building blocks (Compliance, Clarification, Culture, and Connection) and additional factors (Self-efficacy, Role clarity, Social integration, Knowledge of culture, Affordances and Appropriation) from the original analytical framework influence the experience of the onboarding process and was important for the learning process. Based on the study's findings, the analytical framework was complemented with one additional building block (Preparation) and one additional indicator (Proactive behavior) specific to the onboarding process within the auditing firm.
