Explorando la relación entre la educación socioemocional y la adicción a Internet: un análisis en estudiantes de educación media superior

This research aims to understand the relationship between socioemotional development and internet addiction in high school students. A correlational study was conducted with a non-probabilistic sample of 642 participants from different educational institutions, including 238 males and 404 females, aged between 14 and 22 years. Participants were asked to complete questionnaires, and upon analysis using SPSS v. 27, a satisfactory reliability of .936 was obtained. Regarding the descriptive analysis, the mean of each variable concerning socioemotional development and internet addiction was obtained, revealing a significant relationship indicating that higher socioemotional development is associated with lower internet addiction. As for limitations, it is noted that not all students were able to complete the form due to lack of internet access.
