Estudo comparativo dos valores da pressão arterial sistêmica obtida pelos métodos oscilométricos de alta precisão e arterial invasivo em cães domésticos anestesiados
The measurement of systemic blood pressure (SBP) is an extremely important variable in clinical routine, obtained and measured according to published guidelines for dogs and cats. The most commonly used technique is non-invasive oscillometry and vascular doppler. However, invasive blood pressure is the accepted gold standard for measuring systemic blood pressure. Thus, the present study aims to compare systemic blood pressure values obtained by non-invasive, high-precision oscillometric methods and invasive blood pressure in healthy dogs undergoing general anesthesia. For this, 25 dogs, females and males, ofvarying ages, healthy, breed size and varying weight, were selected and clinically evaluated. The dogs underwent general anesthesia with systolic (SBP), mean (MAP) and diastolic (DBP) blood pressure values measured during the trans-anesthetic period. Invasive measurements carried out through dorsal pedal arterial puncture in the pelvic limb with an ideal size catheter; as well as non-invasive measurement using the high-precision oscillometric method on the thoracic limb with ideal-sized cuffs, in accordance with the SBP measurement guidelines. The results showed statistical differences between the blood pressure values measured between the methods used, with the high precision oscillometry method above estimating the values obtained at 12.9±11.1 mmHg,but remaining within the pre-determined range in the research. current. Thus, it was possible to determine the difference in blood pressure values between the methods used, with high-precision oscillometry estimating BP values, but with differences thatrecommend the device and method in clinical practice with anesthetized dogs.
