Fatores intervenientes associados ao uso indiscriminado de métodos contraceptivos de emergência: revisão integrativa
Emergency contraception is a very effective method, however, its inappropriate use has been noted. Therefore, it is important to recognize the possible factors that lead women to use it irrationally, with the aim of finding strategies that can influence the observed situation. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the factors involved in the indiscriminate use of emergency contraception, as described in the scientific literature. This is an integrative literature review, carried out using the VHL in the MEDLINE, LILACS, IBECS, and WPRIM databases and in Periódicos CAPES in the Scopus database. The defined selection criteria included articles with full text available free of charge, written in Portuguese, English or Spanish, and published in the last 10 years. Review articles, monographs, theses and those that did not deal with the research topic and duplicates were disregarded, thus including eight articles. Among the factors highlighted: Lack of knowledge about the method and other available methods, availability of purchase without a prescription in pharmacies, lack of advice from professionals, low socioeconomic status and lack of family planning. Therefore, it is essential to implement initiatives that inform the community about the appropriate use of the morning-after pill, aiming to avoid cases of overdose and highlight the relevance of pharmacists' participation in these conversations, encouraging them to qualify so that they can offer guidance when taking the pill. sale.
