El poder de las palabras en tiempos de crisis: Romanticismo de Jena y literatura argentina en el siglo XXI, un diálogo transatlántico a través del tiempo.

As part of the dossier Comparative Literary History between Periods: Theory and Practice, this article explores the productivity of bringing into dialogue certain aspects of Jena Romanticism and 21st-century Argentine literature (2001-2015). Despite the temporal and geographical distance, it is argued that the innovative spirit of Jena Romanticism continues to be relevant today for understanding the responses of Argentine literature to the crisis of the 21st century, recovering ideas about the reflective and critical force of literature and about artistic practice as a means of vital emancipation. Both periods experienced a profound crisis of social order and cultural redefinition, in which literature and writing became tools for transforming reality. For this reason, the power given to words in times of crisis is highlighted and the use of irony in both periods is analysed. Although there are cultural and contextual differences, the affinity between writing practices and the constitution of the social role of writers in both periods is remarkable.
