FPGA baserat AES kryptering för inbyggda system

Secure communication is a crucial aspect of embedded systems. The AES encryption standard enables secure data exchange between devices by reliably encrypting and decryptinginformation. This work compares the implementation of AES encryption on a hardware-based FPGA design and a software-based soft core processor within embedded systems. The study evaluates each approach in terms of resource utilization and performance. Re-sults show that the FPGA-based implementation significantly outperforms the soft coreprocessor in terms of speed, while the soft core processor offers greater flexibility and easeof integration. The findings highlight the trade-offs between performance and flexibilityin cryptographic system design and conclude that each implementation is best suited todifferent environments depending on application requirements.
