Evaluación de curcumina empaquetada en ácido poliláctico- co-glicólico (Nano-Cur-Plga) en el modelo experimental de enfermedad de Alzheimer inducido Caenorhabditise elegans Gmc101
This article evaluates the effects of curcumin, packaged in poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (NANO-CUR-PLGA), in the experimental model of Alzheimer’s disease induced by Caenorhabditis elegans GMC101. Curcumin, as the active ingredient, was encapsulated in poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) by chemical method of a simple emulsion. The phenotypic characteristics of longevity, mobility, maximum velocity and mobility angles were determined through videos of the invertebrate model Caenorhabditis elegans GMC101, a mutant strain that overexpresses the β-amyloid protein. The characteristics were analyzed by counts, and those of mobility by the ImageJ program using the WrmtracK plugin. The produced NANO-CUR-PLGA had a size of 157.4 nm ± 7.3 with an average of 182.3 nm and morphology of individual, non-fused spheres with a smooth surface. The phenotypic changes of the GMC101 strain showed that NANO-CUR-PLGA extended the lifespan of the worms until day 14 at the concentration of 1.21 µg / ml larger size of the GMC101 strain at the concentration of 0.60 µg / ml increased the maximum speed and mobility angle of the model without relation to the added dose of NANO-CUR-PLGA to the culture medium.
