Educação e desigualdade desde uma sociologia da interdependência: entre experiências e estruturas sociais
The sociological analysis of the relationship between education and inequality has oscillated between deeming education as a remedy or as reproducer of an unequal social order. Despite their relevant contributions, such dissonant perspectives by prioritizing macrostructural aspects diverged from the intersubjective symbolic operants that permeate that relationship. However, here recognizing them as factors with high heuristic value, we bring back the constructs of sociology of interdependence as a theoretical contribution to analyzing the effect of education on unequal social experiences. To this end, life narratives of four heterogeneous subjects are explored, whose trajectories depict multiple experiences of inequality and the instrumentalization of education in processing them. This exercise reveals, on the one hand, the still scarcely explored potential of this theoretical keystone in the sociological treatment of education; and, on the other, it presents the also scarcely explored face of education as a potentially disruptive element of gnoseology that supports radical inequality and subservience as foundations of the social order.
