El empleo formal post-pandémico en México en su vertiente espacio-sectorial: una caracterización desde la resiliencia

After a first wave of studies that called the Covid-19 crisis the most serious in the country's modern history due to its socioeconomic and labor effects, this analysis indicates that the 2020 crisis has been the one that has shown the greatest economic resilience. Based on this approach and through the analysis of the evolution of formal employment recorded by the Mexican Social Security Institute from December 2019 to December 2022, it is shown that most of the associated indicators have indeed been resilient. This happened with total national, regional and state formal employment; eight of nine sectors of activity; four from six age groups, and six from seven establishment sizes. However, workers with higher salaries had a notable decline, unlike those in the range of 1 to 2 minimum wages. Youth employment was not recovered either, nor in the lower segment of large companies. The recovery, although positive in general, has been uneven in specifics.
