Determinar la Funcionalidad Familiar y Calidad de Vida en Pacientes con Enfermedad Renal Crónica en Hemodiálisis del Hospital General Zona con Medicina Familiar Número 2
This study addresses family functionality and quality of life in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis. The psychological, social, and lifestyle changes these patients experience affect not only them but also their families, making it necessary to assess their overall well-being. A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted, using surveys that included the KDQOL-36 questionnaire to measure quality of life and the APGAR Family test to assess family functionality. Seventy-five patients with an average age of 53 years participated. The results revealed that most had normal family functionality, with only 17% showing some degree of dysfunction. Regarding quality of life, patients scored highest on the disease burden dimension, while the symptoms and disease effects dimensions had the lowest scores.
