Descubriendo el Arte Sonoro en el aula: Un taller interdisciplinar

This comunication describes the educational experience of a workshop on Sound Art in Primary and Secondary Education schools in the province of Alicante. Sound Art is essentially an interdisciplinary artistic discipline where Plastic Arts, Visual Art, Music and even scientific experimentation intersect. The transversal nature of this discipline allows contemporary art to be brought into the classroom in a practical way, broadening the view (and the listening) towards sound exploration. The educational proposal has as a teaching resource sound sculptures made of natural stone and amplified through contact microphones. The central activity of the workshop consists of a collective sound exploration guided by the teacher and based on rhythmic sequences and sound improvisations made by the students. These compositions of Sound Art created by the students have allowed a new opening of the project “The Sounds of Stones” connecting Art and research with students and teachers.
