DAS KORPUS FLUCHT UND EMIGRATION NACH GROẞBRITANNIEN (FEGB) IN DER DATENBANK FURGESPROCHENES DEUTSCH
The corpus Flucht und Emigration nach Großbritannien (FEGB) was compiled by Eva-Maria Thüne (University of Bologna, Italy) as part of a research stay (fellowship in Cambridge) in the UK in 2017 and 2018. Most of the language-biographical interviews about the language and cultural identity of the predominantly Jewish emigrants were recorded in Cambridge and in the Greater London area 70 to 80 years after their immigration to the UK. In contrast to other corpora on the experiences of this migrant group (such as the Refugee Voices), these interviews were mainly conducted in German and thus represent one of the last authentic documents of these speakers and eyewitnesses. Code-switching phenomena occur and can also be a focus of analysis in didactic practices.
