Periodic coordination meetings for the Department of Tafsīr had been suspended for several years. After a five-year hiatus, the “XVII. Department of Tafsīr Coordination Meeting” was held in Aksaray on May 30-31, 2025. In the academic segment of the meeting, the divine preservation of the Qu’ran was addressed. Through two panels and one conversation session, the topic was comprehensively examined: studies in this field from the earliest period were reviewed, and the approaches and research methodologies of both Muslim scholars and orientalists were analyzed. New techniques, research opportunities, and findings concerning ancient manuscript codices of the Qur’an (mushafs), which have gained significant scholarly attention recently, were also discussed. As a vital component of the coordination meetings, the challenges facing the department and the future of these meetings were thoroughly discussed. The article concisely summarized the papers presented and deliberations held throughout the meeting, while providing critical evaluations. It also documented the challenges raised and resolutions adopted during the workshop.
