Anglo-Jewry in the Age of John, c.1210-1222.docx

Part of a special issue on Jews and 'the Forgotten Invasion of England', this article examines the experience of Anglo-Jewry under King John and during the early years of the minority of his son, Henry III. Although it takes, as its starting point, the period between the imposition of the Bristol Tallage (1210) and the Synod of Oxford (1222), it situates events in the broader context of longer term Angevin policy, and looks forward to the events of 1258.
