The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism, objectivity, systematicity and scientificity and general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis. The scientific novelty is that for the first time, based on the basic principles of modern humanism and the fundamental works of an outstanding Ukrainian agrarian scientist, involving the memories of the scientist’s contemporaries and members of his family, the relationship between the modern principles of humanism and the humanistic worldview paradigms of the scientist has been clarified. Conclusions. A. O. Babich conducted an in-depth analysis of the global population’s consumption of food and fodder resources, and on the basis of consideration of the cyclicality of global processes of synthesis and circulation of substances, the evolution of the life of cultivated and wild plants, clarified the law on population and food, rejecting the theory of the impossibility of ensuring the growing population of the planet with food resources. According to the scientist’s conclusions, civilization is a self-regulating system in the relationship between population and food. The created modern genetic potential of plant and animal organisms, subject to the implementation of its largescale expansion and production of food and fodder to the extent of fully meeting their needs, can solve the problem of food resources.
