Оцінка інформативності геоінформаційних систем військового призначення

In the modern military environment, geographical information systems (GIS) are crucial in supporting military operations and making effective management decisions. To utilize GIS effectively, it is essential to assess the amount of additional information that can be obtained through the implementation of military GIS, as they are used both for visualizing the current situation on the battlefield and for forecasting and making effective decisions under uncertainty. The results of this research will help determine the volume of additional information that can be gained from military GIS and develop recommendations for their optimal use to meet military needs. The study aims to evaluate the volume of data that can be obtained through military GIS. It explores a symbolic model of maps as an “information channel,” representing the system or environment for recording, processing, storing, and transmitting data about the terrain from the source (the earth's surface) to the receiver. It defines the bandwidth of GIS and assesses the database volume at the brigade level concerning the military GIS subsystem.
