Using GeoGebra to Foster Imagination and Creativity to Build Mathematics Confidence in a STEM World

Math teachers can better prepare all student for a STEM world using computer software like GeoGebra to better prepare our youth for such high-tech careers like that of which Einstein was part of while also emphasizing and fostering creativity in the learning of mathematics. It is critical we have young learners who are confident in their ability to do math and be creative. Teachers today need to check dispositions toward mathematics and address math anxiety while building math confidence in their students. In an ever-advancing world of technology, math teachers need to incorporate such emerging technologies like GeoGebra into the curriculum so that our young people are ready to face this high-tech world in creative ways. Through the mathematical and pedagogical power of GeoGebra, the learner will use this user-friendly software to make meaningful mathematics connections and have the freedom to explore and create with software such as GeoGebra offers. Since this software is available as a free download, many school districts are adopting this software in their classrooms, as it is a powerful tool for teaching and connecting geometry, measurement, and algebra. GeoGebra can nurture creativity and confidence and allow students to employ their imaginations to create in our high-tech STEM world we now live-in gaining confidence and success in mathematics.
