Vpliv preoblikovanja na mehanske lastnosti izdelkov s celično strukturo

Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies have revolutionised the production of parts with cellular structures and allowed for flexibility in their properties. To tailor these properties locally, we have tested the idea of targeting their elastoplastic loading. First, the elastoplastic response to compressive loading of cylindrical products printed by material extrusion of the polylactic acid (PLA) was evaluated. The samples were printed with different distances between the structural infill lines. We have introduced the parameter elastic stiffness and use it as the main criterion to assess the effect of cyclic compressive loading on the printed products. Numerical finite element simulations with Abaqus programme were used to estimate the elastic stiffness of the products under cyclic compressive loading in a digital environment. Here, a user subroutine allowed Young's modulus to be varied as a function of the equivalent plastic strain. After a good agreement between the elastic stiffness of the numerically calculated and the experimental results of the cylindrical specimens, we analysed the target variation of the plastic strain in the individual regions of the non-round product printed by the target loading method. The personification of the product properties was shown on a cellular truncated hyperbolic rectangular cube. This was designed, fabricated and target compressively loaded according to a predefined product shape and loading parameters analysed by numerical simulations to confirm the local strength increase of the product.
