Studi Observasi Tantangan Dalam Interaksi Dengan Pemberi Tender Dan Vendor Di Industri Kontraktor

As an industry which largely contributes to the expansion of economic growth. The construction industry involves numerous outside parties in their operation. This gives rise to a lot of mutually beneficial collaboration; on the one hand it also creates gap or spaces that arise for miscommunication which can be detrimental to both parties or more in working on a project. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach from PT. X as one of the experienced contractor companies in its field. Data was obtained through direct observation, interviews, and direct learning practices. Granovetter’s application of Strength of Weak Ties (SWT) studies and theory regarding different interpersonal relationships can influence different collaboration outcomes, opportunities, and innovations. The research result shows that in the vast construction sector environment which involves many parties, miscommunication is something that will arise as a natural consequence in interacting with several parties or groups simultaneously. Weak ties in the real practice of construction environments show beneficial results as studied by Granovetter’s SWT theory. Awareness of the importance of communication and striving for good relationships between businesses in the partnership network must always be built and maintained. Implementation of strategies or behavior from PT. X in interacting with external companies can be applied to various other sectors that depend on external parties in their operations to generate profits
