A Survey on the Frequency, Contents, and Partners of Cooperative Learning in Classes Where Children Chose the Form of Learning
The purpose of this study was to examine cooperative learning in a class in which students could choose the form of learning. We investigated the frequency, contents, and partners of cooperative learning in a class of 18 students for two hours of a Japanese language unit. The results showed that in terms of frequency and content, in the class in which “collection of information” was frequent, the percentage of collaborative learning about “contents of study” in a face-to-face setting was high. In the class in which “summary” was frequent, the percentage of collaborative learning about “methods” in a cloud setting was high. In addition, 67.0% of the children who collaborated with the same partner both in person and in the cloud collaborated on the “contents of learning” in person and on the “methods” in the cloud.
